Invest in your team's wellbeing with an Employee Assistance Program
Your team is your most valuable business asset. They're the magic ingredient that makes everything possible and without them, no business would be able to operate. Just like any other asset however, they require constant upkeep, maintenance, and "repairs" to keep working at their best.
In addition to their physical health and wellbeing however, it's just as important that you look after their mental health too.
What is an Employee Assistance Program?
An Employee Assistance Program (EAP) is a confidential counselling and psychology service designed to support employees experiencing mental health issues of any kind. Performed by outside psychologists, therapists and counsellors, EAPs offer confidential assessments and short-term counselling for members of your organisation dealing with personal, family, work, or mental health-related challenges they may be facing.
EAPs are provided on an as-needed basis, with most offered to employees at highly reduced or no cost.
What can an EAP help with?
When your team isn't performing, your organisation isn't performing. Issues in an employee's personal life, relationships, family or mental health can affect things like:
- Punctuality
- Motivation
- Abstenteeism
- Employee retention
- Attention span and fFocus
- Relationships with coworkers
- Output and productivity
All of which can impact their work. What an EAP does is provide a mechanism for team members who need help with these areas to receive the support they need, keeping your organisation chugging along.
