Due to the presence of the two elements chromium (Cr) and molybdenum, products are known as "chrome moly" (Mo). Cr boosts a material's strength at high temperatures as well as its resistance to corrosion and oxidation. Mo is known to decrease brittleness, increase hardenability, and boost tensile and creep strength at high temperatures. Chrome moly pipe is available in more than 17 grades, with the most popular P-Grades being P5, P9, P11, P22, and P91. P-Grades are also sometimes known to as "P Grade" materials or simply "Chrome".
