An inverter battery is a device which is designed to provide a small amount of current for a longer period of time. They are used to supply power for both commercial and residential purposes for example at ATM’s, in hospitals, at home, at traffic signals etc.
Batteries are an important component of any electronic device and hence it should be manufactured very carefully and efficiently for its longer durability and a better shelf life so that it can undergo extreme conditions from harshest of terrains, to extremes of heat and cold.
The average life of an inverter battery is around five to eight hours when fully charged and should be used wisely.
Benefits Of An Inverter Battery:
- Helps in not delaying an important work when working on an electronic device like a computer or a phone or laptop
- Gives comfort in the scorching heat by operating AC’s and fans in a power cut situation
- Economical in use as the average cost of an inverter battery varies between Rs 2250 to Rs 150000. So you can choose according to your affordability and requirement.
- They are highly reliable and efficient in use
Types Of Inverter Batteries:
Buying an inverter battery is a one time investment, therefore it is advisable to go for a branded inverter considering all its advantages and disadvantages and buying the best one according to your requirement and affordability.
There are majorly three types of inverter batteries:
1.Flat plate Lead acid batteries- These are one of the oldest types of battery which produces a large amount of current. The two electrodes in this battery i.e lead and lead dioxide are immersed in sulphuric acid hence causing the chemical reaction which ultimately generates the DC current.
This battery needs regular maintenance and can release harmful gases during charging, so has to be used carefully. Water topping is a regular need of this battery.
It is lightweight and economical and one of the most useful batteries to rely on.
2. Maintenance free batteries: As the name suggests these batteries need minimum maintenance. They require neither water toppings nor regular electrolyte checks as the electrolyte inside is completely absorbed in the separator and does not require water to be added .
The battery should be fully cleaned and charged.
They are safer and are faster charging batteries.
Though they are slightly costlier than the previous ones, they need very less maintenance.
They have a shorter life span but still they are one of the most efficient batteries.
3.Tubular lead acid batteries: This type of battery has great efficiency, long operational life and high reliability. It has a complex design and is a bit costlier. These batteries are quite popular as well and there are a lot of reliable Battery Manufacturers in India offering reliable batteries. They consist of pencil type long tubular plates which helps in constant power supply in case of long power cuts.
These batteries ensure safety and have lower maintenance and are also environmentally friendly which makes them the most efficient battery to use and their efficient working makes them an ideal buy for the homes.
