If you forgot your Android lock screen password, is there a way to unlock your phone? The short answer is none – you need to factory reset your device to be able to use your phone again. And since all recent versions of Android encrypt data on your phone by default, there's no way to restore photos, contacts, or any other data that you haven't backed up to your Google account; the data will be lost after reset. But, at least, your phone can be unlocked and you can be used again.

Well, there are two ways to reset your Android phone if you forgot your password and can't get past the lock screen. The first is using Google Find My Device, which allows you to remotely wipe your phone online.

If you find that the Find My Device feature is not active (it should be on by default), you should use the second genius closing account method, “Recovery Mode” aka Android Recovery Mode.

It's important to note that resetting your phone via any of these methods will require you to know your Google account and password used to set up the phone. If you do NOT have this information, the device will be permanently locked. This security measure is taken to prevent thieves from using your device after a factory reset.

How to reset your Android phone via Find My Device / FIND MY DEVICE

1. Go to https://www.google.com/android/find. Make sure you are logged in/sign in to your Google account which is menutup akun jenius the main profile on your Android device. And if you have more than one device, select the phone you want to wipe on the top left of the screen.

2. Select REMOVE DEVICE

3. Click the REMOVE DEVICE button

4. Follow the steps to set up your phone again – note that you will need to verify the Google account information you used to set up your phone to continue setting up the device.

How to reset your Android phone via Recovery Mode / RECOVERY MODE

The steps to enter Recovery Mode vary by manufacturer, but we'll provide instructions for common brands below:

How to reset a stock Android phone (Google Pixel 3, Pixel 2, Pixel XL, or Nexus 6P):

Hold down the Power button to turn off your device.

Press and hold the Power button and Volume down button until your phone enters Fastboot Mode. You'll see lots of system info, along with menu options on the right side of your screen.

Use the Volume up and Volume down buttons to navigate through the menu options until you enter Recovery Mode, then press the Power Button to select it.

You'll see the Google logo on a white background, then the Android mascot lying on its back and saying No command.

Press and hold the Power button, then press the Volume up button.

A new menu will appear with various system commands. Use Volume buttons to open Wipe data/factory reset and Power button to select it.

How to reset HTC phone:

Hold down the Power button to turn off your device.

Press and hold the Volume down button, then press the Power button.

Keep holding Volume down until Download mode appears

A screen menu will appear. Use Volume down key to highlight 'Recovery Mode'.

Select 'WIPE DATA/FACTORY RESET'. Press the Power button to select.

How to reset Huawei phone:

Hold down the Power button to turn off your device.

Press and hold the Volume Up button and the Power button.

Once the startup screen appears, release the Power button, and 3 seconds later release the Volume Up button. Your phone will enter recovery recovery mode

Use Volume buttons or touch the screen to select Wipe data/factory reset.

On the screen that says “Confirm delete all user data?” use Volume buttons or touch the screen to select Wipe data/factory reset.

How to reset LG phone:

Hold down the Power button to turn off your device.

Press and hold the Volume down button and the Power/Lock button for about 10 seconds.

Release both buttons when the System restore screen appears. (Special note for LG V30: When the LG logo appears, quickly release then hold down the Power button again while continuing to fill in the mengisi voucher indosat voucher while holding the Volume down button)

Use Volume buttons to scroll to 'Factory Data Reset'.

Press the Power/Lock key to select.
