How to Overcome a Lenovo Laptop That Turns On Immediately When Opened
For example, if you just want to clean the screen or keyboard, the laptop will also turn on. Here's how to deal with a Lenovo laptop that immediately turns on when opened.

Usually the laptop will turn on when the power button is pressed. However, the Lenovo Ideapad Slim 3 laptop immediately turns on when the laptop screen is opened. Actually this is a feature that helps especially for those who are lazy to press the power button. But there are also those who are less comfortable with this feature.

For example, if you just want to clean the screen or keyboard, the laptop will also turn on. Here's how to deal with a Lenovo laptop that immediately turns on when opened.

The laptop that I use here is the Lenovo Ideapad Slim 3 series 14ADA05, for other series it's probably almost the same way. To turn off this feature, do it through the bios. When the laptop is opened and turned on, please immediately press the F2 key repeatedly. There will be a beep and the laptop enters the bios. Please slide to the "Configuration" menu using the right arrow key on the keyboard. In "Configuration" select the "Flip to Boot" menu then press enter, select "Disable" then enter again.

After that swipe right to the "Exit" menu. Select "Exit Saving Changes" then press enter, when there is a notification, please press enter.

Next, the laptop will exit the bios and start Windows as usual. Please shutdown the laptop and close the laptop screen. Reopen the laptop, it shouldn't turn on automatically. To turn on must press the power button.

Old laptops, aka old laptops, are getting slower every day with age. One reason because Windows is always updated. After updating, it doesn't get lighter, instead the laptop becomes slower. I have an old HP Pavilion X360 11-N045TU laptop. The processor uses Intel DualCore N2830, 4GB RAM and 500GB hard drive. The default OS is Windows 8.1 and has been upgraded to Windows 10. But the performance is very slow, even booting takes minutes. Here are a few tips so that the old laptop's performance becomes fast.

In order for an old laptop to run fast, you can use the following tips. The first thing that can be done is to replace a lighter operating system. Because Windows 10 used was very slow, I finally deleted it. Even though the software is original, the performance is slow, so it's the same. I replaced Windows 10 using Linux Mint Xfce. Its performance is quite faster than Windows 10. When browsing using Firefox it runs smoothly and uses up not much RAM. Other alternatives besides Linux Mint can use MX Linux, Antix, and others.

If you still like to use Windows, then you can use an old version of Windows, for example, Windows 10 version 1909. You can also use a modified version, for example with Windows Ghost Specter. Windows is very light when I use it on a laptop with the specs above. Many features are reduced so that Windows can run quickly. But is Windows Ghost Specter or any other modified version safe? Some say it's safe, some say computers are vulnerable. It also smells illegal because of the modification. In the end, I still used Linux Mint for the HP Pavilion laptop.

Another way to make a potato laptop run faster is to upgrade the hardware. You can add RAM or change the hard drive to SSD. Here I am trying to change the hard drive to SSD. Cheap SSDs cost around 160-200 thousand for 128GB. The laptop's performance has increased, for example, the Linux Mint boot process, which previously took about 1 minute after changing the SSD, took only about 20 seconds. Opening applications is also much faster.

But of course the performance cannot be compared to the new generation of laptops, especially those with higher processors. Even though the RAM and SSD are replaced, the processor's capabilities are still limited because they cannot be replaced.
