JPA DESIGN TO DESIGN NEW INTERIOR OF THE BRUSSELS AIRLINES A330 FLEET
As part of a programme to update the planes, the airline's brand's fun and lively personality was meant to be reflected in the brand's all-new product range, which will launch at the end of 2018.

At the Aircraft Interiors Expo in Hamburg, the international transportation and hospitality design firm JPA Design announced that it will redesign the cabins of Brussels Airlines' A330 long-haul fleet.

With this big investment, Brussels Airlines shows that it is dedicated to improving its product and the overall customer experience on board.

Brussels Airlines is known for putting the customer first and for having friendly, professional service. Working with JPA Design to come up with a new look and feel for its Business, Premium Economy, and Economy Class on its wide-body aircraft is a great way for the airline to show that it cares about its customers. As part of a programme to update the planes, the airline's brand's fun and lively personality was meant to be reflected in the brand's all-new product range, which will launch at the end of 2018. It includes all of the cabin interiors, from the front to the back.

Tanguy Cartuyvels, Vice President of Product and Marketing at Brussels Airlines, had this to say about the new partnership with JPA:

JPA is the right partner for us because it is known for its expertise in designing high-end cabin interiors. Our new cabins in all three classes will not only show who we are, but they will also be very comfortable.

Brussels Airlines is a very strong and powerful brand. It has a close relationship with its customers because it has been running long-haul flights to Africa, the US, and India for a long time. The user experience we're making is colourful and has the rare ability to be on-brand at first glance while also having a depth of design that becomes clear as you settle into your own space. Many brands talk about being "human," but Brussels Airlines has been living this philosophy for many years and can truly offer a unique and warm experience throughout. "We go the extra smile" is their motto, and it is JPA's job to make sure that the whole cabin has the same friendly energy.

JPA Design, which has offices in London, Singapore, and Dubai, will design all of the long-haul flights' A330 cabins, including the seats, carpets, curtains, lighting, bulkheads, and bathrooms.

Working with Belgium's biggest airline is a lot of fun. Our JPA team has spent a lot of time getting to know the company, its people, and the culture of Belgium. We've learned about how friendly the people are, how important it is to be social, how much they love their famous comic book characters, and how strange the "Belgitude" personality is. At first, the differences between Belgium and its neighbours may seem small, but they become very interesting and clear once you know what makes Belgium tick. We were able to see a lot of Belgium. This immersion process has been a fun way to learn, and our main goal will be to bring elements of "Belgitude" to life in the final cabin design, using a design approach that is well-thought-out, high-quality, and practical.

People think of Brussels Airlines as the face of Belgium. In honour of their country's spirit and design culture, the airline's Airbus A320 liveries feature Belgian icons like TinTin, Magritte, the Belgian Red Devils, Tomorrowland, and the Smurfs.

After a long and competitive bidding process, Brussels Airlines chose JPA Design to redesign the onboard products for its fleet of A330s.
